Cushman Park

The four tennis courts located at Cushman Park  (located at 71 Main Street between Main Street and Green Street) were completely repaired and resurfaced in August 2017 in a joint venture by the Fairhaven Tennis Association and the Town of Fairhaven.

The F.T.A. applied for a Community Preservation Grant with the Town of Fairhaven that was approved at the May 2017 Town Meeting in the amount of $17,500 towards the project and the Fairhaven Tennis Association raised the remaining $8,750 over a two year period in order to undertake this community partnership project. The FTA also was awarded a USTA Grant of $4,500 that was put towards this project.

East Coast Sealcoating of Abington, MA repaired over 900 feet of cracks and resurfaced the courts using a Forest Green color on the in-bounds and Light Green on the out-of-bounds.  Junior Tennis “blended lines” were painted on all four courts so that children ages 5-10 can learn to play tennis on a smaller scale.

HOW TO ACCESS THE TENNIS COURTS

To protect the courts the Fairhaven Tennis Association has locked 4 of the 6 gates and only the northwest and southwest gates remain unlocked. We ask that tennis players using the courts help us keep anyone off the courts who is not there to play tennis.
